Queen Anne's Lace and Chicory

Color Note 7 12 2020

Previously I did a demo of the color note above in the studio for a class about Edges, see photo pictured below.

 I was happy with the composition with the focal point being on the upper right rule of thirds, but I just felt something about my color relationships was not quite right. For the demo I worked from my photos only.

I decided to go back to the area and do a plein air color note. As you can see from the color note there is a vibrancy that I did not quite get in the demo. Armed with this new information and using my demo, because it had excellent composition, and using my color note, because of the color and value relationships that match my idea, I now feel that I can paint this idea larger in the studio.
