This small, serene scene captures the quiet beauty of a night, inviting a moment of reflection and calm. It was painted at a demo in Dubuque Iowa in 2024. I used a material to work into the underpainting, micaceous iron oxide. The dark, sparkly paste is thinned down and brushed onto the surface, creating a shimmering effect.
