Monotype painting is a playground for creativity due to its unique and spontaneous nature.

You don't need a press, though it is nice to have, to monotype print.

Below are some of the materials I use.

Cooke Sheet large, fill with water and soak the paper 

Large old towels 

Plexiglass sheets: these can be purchased at Hardware store, start with small sizes

Akua Inks: these are non-toxic inks and clean up with soap and water, I started with black. Black and white prints make beautiful underpaintings for pastel 

Evolon AP Paper 160: can be found at any online art store, it is a unique paper that can be used with a variety of mediums and is archival

Brayers, Squeeges, rags, brushes, or any tool to move the ink on the plate
