I am a landscape painter juxtaposing color in pastel to create the illusion of light.
The power of memory

Memory acts like a filter to eliminate unnecessary details. It helps to train your mind to not get caught up on the unimportant and to stick to the essence of what you are trying to say. Memory work will help the artist stop painting objects and start to paint shape, color, value, line.
At first memory work is stressful and difficult, the mind just like a muscle needs to practice to strengthen itself.
In memory work the artist re-lives her experiences and the effect they produced within.
In memory work you can lean on your knowledge and the years of experience to complete your painting.
I only wonder if memory work qualifies as Plein Air?
